Tugboat “Mud Dog”
The “Mud Dog” is a storied push tug originally constructed in 1954 at the New Orleans shipyards. For decades, it has served faithfully in the inland waterways, primarily operating as a yard tug and handling company operations within a roughly two-mile radius. Although it’s not currently documented for broader commercial service, the Mud Dog is presently undergoing repairs and reconditioning. It’s being fitted with twin Detroit six-cylinder engines to bring it back to life for future use.
